The Indiana Midwifery Taskforce was formed in 1993 for the purpose of legalizing Certified Professional Midwives in the state of Indiana.

The safety of midwifery care and home birth has been proved. Midwifery care is an option that should be made available to Indiana families.

We believe that families should be able to choose qualified, legal birth attendants in any setting: home, hospital or birthing center.

Our goal is to promote the Midwifery Model of Care through legislative recognition of Certified Professional Midwives in Indiana.
